Holy and Dearly Loved

I'm also posting over at Woman to Woman Ministries today, I'm hosting a give-away, click here and check it out and enter to win!

When I first returned to the Lord, I attended a Women's Conference, the speaker taught a lesson I want to share with you today. At the time it made me "ugly cry" but I don't think it really sunk into my heart. I was still too hard to see myself as anything but useless. For the past week though this lesson has been circling my memory once again. God has been constantly speaking this to me, and the best part? I'm listening now..I'm letting the messege lift my Spirit. I'm letting the messege soak into my brain and my heart.

The Dixie Cup

Do you know what a dixie cup is?
The Dixie cup is a paper cup, ordinary, small, plain. It has no special features to it. It's a paper cup to be used then thrown away. Can I just be honest here in my safe space where no one else is around? That's how I see myself. (or at least I used to) A dixie cup. Nothing special, plain. For a long time I think that image was pretty accurate too. My friendship, my love, my talent, my brains they'd be used then discarded, no longer needed. I was small, unworthy. barely noticable in the crowd.

The speaker at the women's conference asked her audience, how can you see yourself as this:

when God sees you as this?

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Col 3:12
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1st Peter 2:9

No one can make you feel less than worthy untl you let them. My whole life I've let people walk all over me, I've let myself be ignored, I've let my voice be silenced. God sees me as His child, Holy and dearly loved. I am loved. YOU are loved.

Whether you are being bombarded with past hurt, haunted by past relationships or you just need a hug this morning...see yourself as God sees you.

Holy and dearly loved
A royal priest
A beautiful peice of artwork that He created to shine

Today, for me, this messege is the only thing that matters. The only thing that's relevant.

Today I want to encourage you to share this love with someone who needs to hear, who needs to feel, who needs to know the love and acceptance of their Heavenly Father ~ whether they know Him or not.

I'm linking up with The Gypsy Mama for 5 minute Friday today, check out her site for details.
