A Mother's Passion

I'm reflecting on a lot today. This isn't going to be a post with 5 easy steps. It's not going to be a post with do this so you can get that...it's a post about passion. My passion.

It's been exactly a year since I quit my job. At 4:30 today one year ago I walked out of a job I held for 6 years and stepped into a position I had no idea what to do with. It wasn't by my own power that I quit. No. God had been working on my heart for several months. Growing my faith, bringing me closer to Him so when the time came I would be able to say Yes Lord. Yes, I will go..choose me. At the time He chose me I had passion. Passion for my family. Passion for my Church. Passion for worship. Passion burning so deep in my heart that I felt as if I were going to burst. Passion to spread the Word. Passion to speak the very words of Christ so that no soul on this earth would die. I wanted to do something mighty and powerful for the Kingdom of God and when God chose me and called me out of that job I was ready. I was afraid...but I was ready. I had no idea what came next. I had no idea what tomorrow held, but I was ready...

On being a girl

Being a girl in this world is hard. On every side we have things being thrown at us. According to that tv show we have to wear the perfect combination of jeans and sweater and boots to look fabulous. According to that commercial we have to have this lipstick and that eye shadow to hide our "not so perfect according to the world" complection. According to the people looking at us while we walk to our car, we must not be doing something right because of the look they just gave us. According to that magazine we HAVE to have an hour glass figure or we aren't even worth acknowledging.

Every where we look we have to compete with someone about something whether our looks, our clothes, our job performance or our home life....

December 3rd - A Story of Hope

Today I'm sharing something that happened to my husband and our family last year on December 3rd. Please join me at Woman to Woman Ministries to see what happened and to see how God turned this event into something beautiful and amazing. This is not just a post for women..everyone is welcome.

Click here to see why this scripture is so so important to our family now...

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
Psalm 91

TGIF

I'm posting at Woman to Woman Ministries today. We're talking about mommy confessions so join us in the discussion.

Last week my sweet sister Jenifer posted on her blog about God being first. Today. God. Is. First. Don't forget to put God first today in your life. He longs for so much more than a Sunday morning commitment or a passing prayer from us..

Have a wonderful, blessed weekend friends. Every day is a gift.
