It is well

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Grace.

Grace is a beautiful thing, don't you think? I used to think sure there's grace but I still did something wrong and I still need to pay for that don't I? I still need to suffer for my mistakes, right?

Wrong.

Jesus did all that on the cross.

I yelled at my kids...I don't need to beat myself up for that...grace says start again.
I spent money I shouldn't have...no need to yell at myself...grace says He will provide, I need only ask forgiveness..
I was prideful, I was self righteous, I held bitterness and anger...God couldn't possibly love me through all of that...Grace says let me take it, you see ugliness, but I see My Son in you and we can work on those things. You're not bad, child.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8,9

We may see ugliness, but God sees beauty, sometimes I just need to be reminded of that....and maybe you do too.

You are beautiful..whether you choose to see it or believe it, you are. You are His creation and He can take your mess and turn it into something you can't even imagine...if you surrender...if you want healing...He's ready and willing, arms wide open to you.

No more beating ourselves up for mistakes past and present...today on this new Monday we can say

It is well, it is well with my soul

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Beautiful post! I love this, "We may see ugliness, but God sees beauty, sometimes I just need to be reminded of that....and maybe you do too." We all need a reminder from time to time.
