A word and a ramble

Perseverance.

That's the word God keeps putting on my heart. For several weeks it's been perseverance. This week the phrase "Remain in Me" has been added to that. "Remain in Me and persevere."

The other day, I was listening to a Christian Radio station and they announced their daily Bible verse. Can you guess which one it was? Here let me show you.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off all extra weight, especially the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1 NLT

Let me count the ways this pertains to me and my life at this moment. Can I share a secret with you? I haven't been persevering very well. I'm not in spiritual or physical shape to be running any race right now and on top of that I feel like God litterally wants me to start running. Like for real, feet pounding the pavement, huffing and puffing till my heart falls out running.

I'm the queen of excuses, which is what my Thursday post will be on but for today I just need to pray. I need to persevere..and I need to remain in Jesus.

Thank you for reading my ramble.

Remember: Remain in Jesus and persevere today.

Mandy, as a runner, let me encourage you to give it try! I used to HATE running. And, one of the reasons was I put too much pressure on myself. At the beginning, if you can only run a 1/2 mile that's fine...the hard work will pay off. :)
I like running with and iPod. Sometimes, I forget I am running if I am listening to music! You go girl!!!

I started running, if you can call what I did running lol, a few months back. I hated it yet truly enjoyed it. It hurt yet it felt good. (I can't run anymore simply because my only time to run is early morning and right now it is still dark which not safe for a woman to be jogging in the dark.) Running did teach me perseverance, though I still need to work on it.

Once again I'm right there with you Mandy :) I haven't been persevering well either... I've been having a bit of a pity party for myself. Thanks for this encouragement!

Perseverance, strength to remain, remain in Him, abide in Him - all common themes running through the blogging world lately. God knows the time is short and the days are getting darker. We must remain in Him if we are going to make it. The enemy is working hard to pull us away, so we must work even harder to remain.

That's a powerful message He's placed on your heart Mandy, and I'm sure that you'll find it leads you where He means you to go.

Have a Blessed Day!
