Surrender

I want a house of my own. I want one so bad I can picture everything down to the color of the doorknobs.

I want a car, a good reliable SUV type car.

I want to be a stay at home mom, I want to home-school my kids, I want to shelter them from the ways of the world and bring them up for Christ.

I want to help people, I want to tell people about my Heavenly Father, I want to bring people to know Him.

These are my dreams. I've been thinking a lot about my future latley. What God has in store for me, but mostley about what I want for my life.

All of these things seem so impossible today. One day, as I was dreaming God spoke to me. A song was playing on the radio, I've heard it before but never really payed any attention to the lyrics until that day. I think God played it just for me.

Through the song, He told me to surrender my dreams. I've held on to them so tightly for so long that the want has almost consumed me.

Don't get me wrong, it's not bad to dream. Our dreams are what makes us unique. He created us to dream, to imagine all the possibilities for our lives.

He showed me that if I just let go of my dreams and give them to Him, open my hands to Him, that He could turn those dreams in to so much more than even I could imagine for my life.

God is faithful to complete the work He starts in us - His word says so, so today I'm wondering what He has in store for me. He knows my dreams, He's the one that put them in my heart. Nothing is impossible for my Father and I will work on handing my dreams over to Him. I know He will keep them safe.

We do have to surrender everything to God. We may think our dreams are great, but God may have something even greater. Just remember, He has a plan and purpose for you. You're His girl!

I hear your heart. Dreams are good and healthy but like you wrote, they must be surrender to God. I've put your name on my prayer list. I'll be praying God will take your dreams and bring them to fruition in a way that will astound you.

One of the hardest, yet simplest, things to do is to surrender. God has promised that He will give us the desires of our heart when we follow Him. You've taken the first steps, Mandy. Continue to follow Him and in His time, your desires will be come reality...if they are within in the confines of His will for your life. Love ya, girl!

It is so hard to surrender all that we want to Him. I too would love to be a stay at home mom as well as have a bigger house just so that we have room to turn around. But you're right-He knows our needs and what we need. So all we can do is give our dreams up into His very capable hands!

Surrendering is hard. I love how gentle God is in reminding us that He is better than all our dreams. Thank you for great reminders. Have a great weekend!

Surrendering our hopes and dreams and even our future to God is hard sometimes. I realized a couple of years ago that I wanted God's best for me, not my best. God's best is sopping with blessings beyond our imagination...and like you said, we just need to look up, open our hands and let Him to the leading. Great post!

As everyone has said, surrendering can be hard. God has great plans for you and as you follow His heart, your desires will become His desires and He will provide greatly for you.
