A whole lotta nothin

I bought a new Devotional to read with the kids this past weekend. It's for ages 4-7 and I really like it. I beleive God can use whatever He wants to speak to us and He used my kids devotional as one instrument this morning.

"God wanted to make the world. And He did it! it is amazing that He made it out of nothing. Think about how hard it would be for you to make something out of nothing. It is impossible for you. But it is not impossible for God." "Only God can make something out of nothing, that is how He made the world!"

We read this after I found out how much my husbands unemployment checks will be. Right now I have a whole lotta nothin, to offer God. We've had to really check our attitude this morning, the kids are picking up that something is wrong, my daughter is clingy and my son has been really whiny. They are so young, I don't want this to affect them so while I have a whole lotta nothin to offer God right now, He made the world out of nothing, He can make something beautiful out of our nothing too.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise in God I trust and am not afraid.    What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:3,4

Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! Isaiah 30:18

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on  your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight. Proverbs 3:5

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
