Faith is

I'm learning a lot about faith latley. I think faith means different things to different people but to me it means walking with Jesus and learning to lean on Him in every circumstance.

Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38

Faith is: Learning God will stretch our money enough to buy groceries and pay all of our bills on time with just John's paycheck when we trust in Him.
Faith is: Learning that God will NOT let me go and that I am His daughter no matter what my feelings are in this moment.
Faith is: Not knowing why I'm quitting my job but being willing to lean on the promises of God and the actions of Matthew as he laid down his life for Jesus.
Faith is: Learning I'm going to be a Children's Pastor even as I struggle with fear and anxiety.
Faith is: Learning I'm going to be preaching in July and still being able to function because God has been preparing me for months.
Faith is: Learning I'm going to give a lesson on Tithes and Offerings this Sunday and despite the nerves I know deep down my Heavenly Father WILL come through for me and give me the words to teach these children why it's not good to rob from God.

...So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1st Corinthians 2:5

Right now in this moment I'm walking by faith. Learning to take one foot infront of the other even as I don't know if the next step will be available for me. May I never ever shrink back Father. Help me always move forward for You.

Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. James 1:3

What does faith mean to you in this moment, in this season of your life? Is God stretching your faith today?

Love your perspective and honesty here. For me, faith is moving outside my comfort zone and sharing the love of Jesus with others. Faith is seeing people through Jesus' eyes and being moved by His compassion towards them.

Hi Mandy,

I love what you wrote about making the money stretch and that you are going to be talking about tithes and offerings. I hear so many people tell me that they just can't afford to tithe right now, and I think to myself you can't afford not to. I am currently living on about 1/2 of what I was used to and I still tithe, I don't say that to make myself sound super holy or anything, I learned from experience that when I tithe my money doesn't run out, even when it seems like I have more bills than usual to pay and have I run out of everything the money is always there to meet my needs, when I don't tithe, well for some reason the money is just gone. Blessings to you Mandy.

Great post. To me right now faith is knowing that God will supply my needs when I don't know how it will work. It is knowing that God is in control of my husband's relationship with his dad and all I can do is continue to pray. It is knowing that even in those dark times, God is still there.

Mandy, it's so wonderful to see all the directions that your faith has stretched and grown you in the last year. You have every reason to believe that God will stay by your side, and that in His Love you'll continue to grow. :-)

Have a Blessed Day!
