I'm proud of you

Let me just say this was a hard blog to write. It took lots of prayer and lots of thought. God has been telling me to write about it for weeks but I've been struggling with doubt and worry so I hope it helps someone like it has helped me..

As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment, Heaven was opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him. And a voice from Heaven said "this is My Son whom I love; with Him I am well pleased." Matthew 3:16-17

All my life I've wanted to hear someone say they were proud of me. That I did something good..in the past I'm not sure I would have believed it but I needed to hear it. Now though, as God changes my life, all I want to hear is God say He's proud of me. I need to please Him. I need to know that I'm doing something right in His eyes.

I've said before, I make a lot of mistakes. I wonder to myself daily how a most holy and perfect God could love me with the way I'm acting.

You are doing a good job...I'm proud of you, lock eyes with Me and I will show you the way, I love you so much.

One day God gave me a most precious gift of truth to hold on to. I've been clinging full force to it since then. Even when doubt and anxiety and fleshy temper tantrums try to rip it out of my grip, still I cling. I'm going to give it to you too, just incase you need to hear it today or tomorrow or ever..

Jesus didn't start His ministry until AFTER He was baptized. No healing the sick, giving sight to blind, forgiving sins, no feeding 5,000 people...nothing until after He came up out of that water.

So what did God say to Him BEFORE He did anything at all? God said I'm proud of you. I love you. You are my son.

That truth is for us too. He is proud of you. He loves you and YOU are His child. You don't have to strive to be perfect. You don't have to look for love, or grace or even a hug. God is right there. Even if we do nothing, even if day after day we struggle and fall He still loves us. He's still proud of us and we are still His.

I'm still learning. God is still working on me, every day I have to remind myself of this and every day a little more soaks in to my heart. I just keep praying and moving forward through the muck but to hear Him say He is proud of me warms my heart and gives me hope.

I continue to cling to this truth and I hope it helps you too when you need a little love from God.

Yes, let's cling to that truth that God is proud of us and does love us! Like you said, He is right there even when we need a hug. We don't have to search, we just have to say Yes Jesus! Thanks for this.

Your post is a really good one. God loves us and He is proud of us. He will never stop loving us, He may not like what we do at times but He will never stop loving us. He is always there to help us if we just ask Him. Thanks for a great post. Blessings.

Mandy you and Allison are synced up today! I can feel the intensity and passion in your voice in this post. I am just like you and I think we spent so much of our lives before Him striving for approval and acceptance... for someone to love us and be proud that old habits just die hard, but the good news: they are indeed dying! Praise Jesus, He is doing a new thing!

It is an awesome feeling to know that the Creator of the universe, the One who gives me my next breath, the Almighty and Holy God not only loves me lavishly, but He is proud of me because I am HIS.

Nice post. God loves us so much and everyday seems to be journey in learning just a little bit more about what His grace actually means. To understand more fully that nothing can separate us from His love.
