Praise God!

I found my joy...it was lost for a few days, I was lost for a few days but yesterday I talked to a lady I work with and she said that when she was in a dark point in her life, God told her to just praise Him for who He is..she said she litterally had to drag herself out of bed, she opened to psalms and started reading out loud....

From my last post you know that I've been feeling this very heavy burden in my heart. My children don't understand why daddy can't hold them. They don't understand why he won't roll around on the floor with them or tickle them or even walk upstairs to read them a bedtime story. (Mommy's stories are good but they just aren't the same as daddy's ;-)) So this burden has just been so heavy and I started listening to the condemnation and my joy was gone. I would cry when I got some time alone, I would weep bitterly, painfully for my kids, for my husband, for me.

I know now that I was fighting this change, we have a new normal now and it just has to be like this for a while. We explain that daddy has an owie and we have to be gentle with him, they understand that even though they don't like it.

So back to my story about a lady I work with, I told her I would do that and here's what I found...

For as high as the heavens aer above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him. Psalms 103:11
Praise God!

As a father has compassion on His children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. Psalms 103:13
Praise God!

The Lord has established His throne in Heaven, and His kingdom rules over ALL! Psalms 103:19
Praise God!

Psalms 104 is all about how He formed the earth, all the oceans, mountains, trees, He supplies all the animals needs, so gently so carefully. Suddenly my problems don't seem so big, suddenly my eyes are open and I'm able to praise Him because of who He is. I know He's hurting for my kids too, His word says so..He has compassion on us. Today I'm just praising God, He opened my eyes, He made a way out of this hole, I fell on Him and He held me and helped me sort this out...we will be fine because He loves us.

Praise the Lord oh my soul, Oh Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. He wraps himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the Heavens like a tent and lays the beams of His upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds His chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants.
Psalm 104 1-4

God is so good! We can have joy despite what is going on because joy in Christ does not waiver. It is real. raise God for His joy! Thank you for posting this sweet reminder.

Praying for you Mandy! I've found that my greatest encounters with God we're while in the pit. Your joy now is because you know that when you look back on all of this not only will you be changed, but you will see Him all over it! And the testimony of His work in and around you will go on and on and on.

Blessings,
Heidi
